It's a mystery.
August 31 is missing from the first edition of China's Book of Days!
We have no idea how this happened, but there's plenty of guessing going on in Pecan Springs.
- McQuaid thinks that maybe China was startled by Brian's gecko climbing up the back of her chair when she was writing. She hit the delete key, and wiped out the whole page.
- Sheila is investigating the possibility that the page was stolen by one of the villains China has apprehended during her long career as a crime-fighter.
- Ruby's Ouija board reports that a computer gremlin ate it (with hot salsa, maybe?) while Mercury was retrograde.
- And China herself confesses to being chronologically-challenged. Maybe she thought there were only 30 days in August.
But all is not lost! August 31 has been found on Susan's computer. (She kept a backup copy, in case China didn't get things entirely right.)
